Ms. Camp has completed more than 100 hours of mediation training:

Alida Camp has been a full-time mediator and arbitrator for more than twenty years.    

She has successfully resolved complex cases involving breach of contract, breach of distribution agreements, breach of agreement between gallery and artist, breach of fiduciary duty, construction defect, construction disputes between owner/architect, owner/contractor, contractor/sub-contractor, damage to adjacent property, mechanic liens, and customer claims against broker/dealers.

Ms. Camp is on the roster of the American Arbitration Association, the CPR Institute, the EEOC, federal and state courts, FINRA, and Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts

Ms. Camp has  mediated more than 70 employment disputes involving both EEO and wrongful termination claims.   EEO issues included age, race, sexual, ethnic discrimination, ADA violations, retaliation.   Non-EEO issues include wrongful termination, alleged failure to comply with warrant, option, severance obligations).

Ms. Camp has also mediated multi-party disputes in general commercial and construction disputes.

 

Teaching and Mentoring

Ms Camp has assisted New York Law School’s Mediation Clinic in NYC Small Claims Court Mediations by mentoring, reviewing and providing feedback to students.

Ms Camp has also trained volunteer mediators for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and has organized programs to familiarize parties and counsel with the mediation process through the ABA’s Entertainment ADR Committee.   She has been a guest speaker speaker at mediation classes in law schools.

Ms. Camp has trained mediators for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, organized and spoken on numerous ADR panels for the ABA, the NYC Bar Association, and the American Arbitration Association. She has organized and presented programs at various law firms in conjunction with the ABA Entertainment ADR Committee, which she co-chairs, and the AAA.

She has spoken in law school classes at Columbia University and Brooklyn Law School, and has assisted a law school mediation clinic class in mediating in NYC Small Claims Court since 2006.

 

Background

Prior to her work as a neutral, Alida produced seven feature films, served as General Counsel and Vice-President of Business Affairs at Concorde-New Horizons Corp, an independent motion picture production and distribution company, production counsel on two independent features and Assistant Professor of Business Law at the University of Michigan School of Business. She began her career after graduating from the Columbia University School of Law as a litigator.
